Seeing Flowers in a Dream | Islamic Dream Interpretation

According to Hazrat Ibn Sirin (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ), seeing flowers in a dream has two types of meanings: one is when the flower is seen on its tree, and the other is when it is seen without a tree. If a flower appears in the dream whose type is unknown, it indicates sorrow or worry for the dreamer. If someone sees a red flower on its tree during its proper season, it means he will have a child. But if he sees it out of season, it indicates trouble or difficulty because of his child.

In dreams, a flowering tree represents a leader or an influential person who speaks wisely. A yellow-flower tree symbolizes a merchant woman who fulfills needs, while a white-flower tree represents honor, status, and wealth. If someone sees flowers inside his house, it means he will bring a girl into his household, likely through marriage. If he sees roses (gul-e-sad-barg) in his house, it shows that he will be happy because of his child. If a person sees many different kinds of flowers blooming, it means he will be pleased with his family and relatives. But if he sees the roots of the flower tree growing directly from the ground, it indicates that the people of his household will become lazy.

Hazrat Jaber Maghribi (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) said that in dreams, flowers represent a weak-hearted and unfaithful person who does not keep promises. If someone gives flowers to another person or drops them from his hand, it means he will distance himself from such an unfaithful person.

Hazrat Ismail Ash’ath (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) said that seeing flowers in a dream represents a letter arriving from someone who is far away, or that the absent person himself will return.

Hazrat Jafar Sadiq (علیہ السلام) said that seeing flowers in a dream has six meanings:
  • Child
  • Friend
  • Weak-hearted person
  • Maid
  • Servant
  • A letter from someone who is absent
